  The “Floating point division by zero” error is a generic one that Fortran generates when a divisor isn't checked to make sure that it is non zero before evaluating it. If you can send me the TRNSYS part of your project (the file that you're trying to read with Type9 and the project that attempts to read it) then I might be able to use some debugging tools to find out what is happening.

Is there a way that a data reader (type 9) reads a text file just at the beginning of the simulation, instead of the whole time steps, so that it can be used as a TRNSYS parameter for mathematical optimization?

I know it is also possible by using type 62 (calling excel), but using excel reduces the speed considerably.
