Re: [TRNSYS-users] air-to-soil heat exchanger (canadian well)

Hi David,

We are now working on that using Type460 from Transsolar types.
Thank you for your reply.

Issmail,

The algorithms that Type556 used were found to be faulty. The component was replaced with Type952 in a later TESS Libraries release. The component is in the GHP library. I would, however, caution you about using either one of them to model an air-to-soil heat exchanger. They both assume that the pipes are liquid filled and neither one of them deals with condensation that might occur if they were filled with air. Instead, I would recommend that you look at Transsolar's Type460, which is specifically intended to model an air-to-soil heat exchanger. https://trnsys.de/docs/komponenten/komponenten_ts_en.htm

kind regards,

 David

Dear Tnsys users,

I am trying to simulate an air-to-soil heat exchanger (canadian well) with heat recovery system using both types 556 and 667b located in TESS.
I couldn't find the type 556 in TESS!
Is it individual component? Because I couldn't find it on TRNSYS website either.

Thank you in advance!

Regards,
Issmail
