Hi Muhammad, That was actually part of my PhD research project. In Trnsys you have the possibility to apply single and 2-stage heat pumps models (Type 927, 1221) but as far as I know no type for variable speed heat pump is yet implemented. I would recommend you to use a datasheet of operation points of variable speed heat pump from any manufacturer and use Type Multi-Dimensional Data Interpolation (Type 581) to generate an interactive interpolation depending on the parameters you want to study such as (Compressor Frequency, outlet water temperature and etc). You can then connect your heating/cooling load model to your heat pump model. However to have a start point you could start with Type 1221 and implement a simple load control strategy for it to seen how it performs. Bests, Hamidreza Heidar Esfehani From: Muhammad Abid via TRNSYS-users Hi Dear TRNSYS user, I will be using TRNSYS for my research work on variable speed heat pump compressor for demand side management and network stability. I have started learning TRANSYS since last two months and have got some basic ideas.I wish to start in systematic way. Once I look into the different heat pump mathematical models, get confused i.e Geometrical or Physical model, semi empirical model(including the lumped model), empirical model. I am not sure which model should i select at this early stage which should be useful to achieve the objectives associated with the topic at later stage. I need some suggestions and a simple start point which can lead me to go through my PhD studies? Furthermore as a part of my work i need to do some experiments with the test bed. So what parameters should i expect from the test bed?
