Position: 3-year PhD Position (for those with good TRNSYS experience) in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong
There is one available position of the PhD Candidate (PhD Scholarship Supported) in the field of the building energy technology and renewable energy technologies in the Department of Building Services Engineering, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University,
Hong Kong. The PhD candidate is expected to use TRNSYS simulation environment during the PhD period.
Position start date: Beginning of January 2019.
Duration: Three years.
Requirements:
(1) With a Master’s degree (or will have graduated before January 1st 2019) or equivalent in the field of energy engineering, HVAC technology, thermodynamics and heat transfer, building energy technology, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering,
or applied physics.
(2) Strong competence in the building energy simulation (TRNSYS simulation), modelling and optimization.
(3) Outstanding academic and publication records.
(4) Hard working and high sense of responsibility.
(5) English Requirement: Applicants who have not obtained a degree of which the language of instruction was English from a recognised university are required to obtain an overall score of at least 6.5 (with score for the writing component at 6.0 or above)
in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or 550 or above in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for the paper-based test (with a score of at least 4 out of 6 in the Test of Written English), or 80 or above in the internet-based
test (with a writing score of 23 or above).
The PhD Candidate will work for the project “The optimal transitions from interactively-isolated systems to the mutually-integrated unity between zero-energy building(s) and zero-energy vehicle(s)”.
