Re: [TRNSYS-users] How to connect absorption chiller to building cooling load

Sinchote,

There isn't really a way to answer your question. There could be any number of reasons for a lower than expected cooling load. I would recommend that you go back through your model and make sure that you have set up the building correctly. Is there infiltration? Are there realistic energy gains from occupants and equipment? One common problem is that the value of TGROUND (the boundary temperature for the ground floor) gets set to an input whose default value is zero. In the model this means that the temperature of soil underneath the ground floor is 0C. Setting that temperature to a constant value of the annual average air temperature is a better (if not ideal) assumption.

kind regards,

 David

Dear Mario and Trnsys users,

Thank you for your comment.

However, I have a question about cooling load in TRNBuild.  In TRNBuild, i set the schedule time of the building during daily(8.00-17.00 hour). When i simulated the cooling load, sometimes i found that the cooling load on that time was zero. I think that it should be have.

How can i resolve it?

Could you help me please?

Thanks.

Dear Sinchote Keeratianant,

In TRNBuild you can define a new ventilation type, with temperature, flow rate, and humidity as inputs. Then activate the ventilation on your thermal zone.

This way you will be able to connect type 107 to type 56 in Simulation Studio.

Best,
Mario

Dear TRNSYS users,

I'm a beginner in TRNSYS and using TRNSYS 18.

I have a performance data of absorption chiller and i would like to validate the cooling capacity of absorption chiller has enough size with building cooling load or not.

Then, How can i connect the absorption chiller model type 107 to building cooling load model type 56?

Could you help me please?

Thank you.
