Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS-users Digest, Vol 160, Issue 41

Dear Micheal Kummert,

As I know you have speared the information about TRNSYS workshop held in Canada last May, I would like to send you this email to ask whether I can access to the workshop contents such as presentation material and running files? I know I am very late to attend that course, but I really want to learn about TRNSYS for optimization and Model-Predictive Control with Matlab and GenOpt.

If anyone else in this group can help me, I am highly appreciated that.

Thank you much for your help.

Best regards.

Khoa Le.

Achinta,

Use 10,10 on both axis with same maximum n minimum limits on both axes for comparison , and increse plotters , e.g use one plotter for temperature only and link all temperature with it, n other one for humidity only for all humidities.

Dear Sir/Madam,
kindly let me know, what is the maximum value of  axis variable we can set in online output plotter for getting results in TRNSYS17.in my system i can set maximum variable 10 but i need more than 10 variable. kindly give any suggestion.for your kind information i have attached the screenshot, where i am facing problem.thank you for your valuable time.

Achinta,

You can plot up to 10 variables on the left axis and 10 on the right axis (for a total of 20 per plot). If you need more than that you can use up to 10 instances of Type65 in a simulation. They will appear as tabs along the bottom of the plot window.

kind regards,

 David

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS Workshops at eSim 2018, Montréal, QC - in just 2 weeks!

There will be 3 TRNSYS workshops before/after eSim 2018, the IBPSA-Canada conference (May 8-11, Montréal, QC).

Note that even though the first workshop was first announced as an introductory one, its contents will be adapted to the participants. In particular the second half of the workshop will focus on more advanced features such as writing new components (there are still no prerequisites).

May 8, 8:30 – 12:30: Introduction to TRNSYS 18 and advanced features

Introduction to the software with a focus of new capabilities in TRNSYS 18. Advanced notions such as writing new components will be covered during the second half of the workshop.

Instructor: Angela Weiss / Dave Bradley, TESS

May 8, 13:30 – 17:30: TRNSYS for optimization and Model-Predictive Control with Matlab and GenOpt

Comparison of different approaches to optimize building and system design in TRNSYS with GenOpt or using Matlab as a pre- and post-processor. Comparison of different approaches to implement MPC in TRNSYS in two distinct cases: using TRNSYS as the controller model for simulation or real-time implementation, and using TRNSYS as the reference model to investigate MPC using models and control algorithms implemented in Matlab through Type 155.

Instructors: Michaël Kummert and Kun Zhang, Polytechnique Montréal

May 11, 8:30 – 12:30: Modelling and simulating Ground-Source Heat Pump Systems using TRNSYS

Practical workshop on modelling of ground-source heat pump systems covering borehole heat transfer and heat pump modelling as well as complete system models (bore field, heat pump, building).

Instructor : Michel Bernier, Polytechnique Montréal

Prasanth,

Set the number of simulation years to 10 (Parameter 28).  You are hitting the mesh boundary limit by setting it to one year and then running a 10-year simulation.

Hello TRNSYS user,

I am using type 557b (Vertical Borehole Heat Exchanger) for my TRNSYS

earlier. For example (at 13225.5 hour 100kW heat extraction).
The error message is shown below.

Can anyone explain to me why it happens or what is the solution? Thanks
