Re: [TRNSYS-users] stratified storage tank issue

Fozia,

Typically we use one stratified node for every 4-6 gallons of storage.  So your tank would have 20-30 nodes.  Put the return from the collector at the top of the tank (just below the auxiliary heater) the supply to the collector at the bottom of the tank, the outlet to the load at the top of the tank and the inlet mains water at the bottom.  If you are using Type 4 then pay special attention to where you set your auxiliary heater as it will automatically put the collector return flow just beneath it.

Hi,

i am having issue in storage tank outputs, need help how to set the nodes to get lower TEMPERATURE on (Temperature to heat source side) and high temprature at Outlet of SOLAR COLLECTOR, (as i don't need  storage tanks  builtin auxiliary heater to hot the water)
In my calculations (T_IN_SOLAR_COLLECTOR) < (T_OUT_SOLAR_COLLECTOR)

stratified storage tank nodes = 2
my  rate of pumps is 560kg/hr
solar collector area= 14m2
storage tank volume= 0.5m3

kindly guide..

Regards,
