Re: [TRNSYS-users] R: problems with input file (type 927)

Chiara,

Type927's data file is normalized so that yes, you can use it as a generic data file. It would advise that even if you do not have a specific heat pump model or manufacturer in mind that you look online and find an actual heat pump that is similar in capacity to the one that you need to use. Use the rated values of heating and cooling capacity as well as the COPs for heating and cooling from the real heat pump.

If you want a heat pump model like 927 but based on different independent variables then yes, you would need to write a different Type. If you just want to specify more or fewer values of Type927's variables then you can adjust the data file and the Type927 parameters accordingly.

kind regards,
 David

David,

thank you for answered me. If i correctly understood the samplecatalog file is an example that i can use like a model for my personal performance data. But, if i don’t have the performance data (from manufacturer’catalog) how can resolve the situation? Can i use the example file and modify parameters like capacity and power?

Another question: if i don’t want to use the same indipendent values on wich type 927 is built, the only solution that i have is to create a new type. Is correctly?

Thank you for helping me.

Best regards,

Chiara

Chiara,

The file is text based so you can edit it with a text editor such as notepad. I prefer to edit them in Excel and then save the file as tab delimited text. All of the information in the file comes from manufacturer's catalog data, which can be downloaded from a heat pump manufacturer's website. The format of the file is discussed in the model's documentation. The documentation can be found in ..\TrnsysXX\Tess Models\Documentation\

kind regards,

 David

Hi everyone,

i had to use type 927, to simulate my Water-Water Heat Pump, but i really don’t understand how can i write my personal input file or how can i modify the input file located in samplecatalog. Can anyone helps me?

Thank you so much for the attention.

King regards,

Chiara
