The third output of Type1 (or of Types 538 and 539) is the useful energy gain from a solar collector. If you want to know the collector's efficiency you need to implement an equation that divides the useful energy gain by the product of the solar radiation incident on the collector surface and the area of the collector.

Be a bit careful with instantaneous efficiency. At night, when there is no solar radiation the efficiency is not defined. Usually it is better to integrate the useful energy gain and the incident solar over at least a day, then divide those results.

kind regards,
 David

Type 921 is similar to many other TRNSYS components.  Drag it on to the screen.  Fill out the parameters, connect the inputs and watch it's behavior to make sure it's working how you intend it to.  The electrical input power is calculated from the load met and the performance at the given input conditions (read from a performance map).
