Re: [TRNSYS-users] Mixing two fluids

Mohamed,

There are two ways that you can do it. If you are trying to model a tempering valve (a device that prevents one stream of liquid from overheating by mixing in some colder liquid) then you can use Type11. Look in the 04-MathematicalReference manual and it will give you an example of how to model it.

If you have a more general case and you want to know in what ratio to mix the liquids to obtain a certain mixed temperature then the ratio can be computed based on knowing the temperatures. Once you solve the mathematics, you can then implement them as an equation in your input file. Use the ratio as the control signal to a mixing valve model.

kind regards,

 David

Hello TRNSYS team,

I would like to mix two streams of fluids. the temperature of the fluids are known. the flow rate of the first stream is fixed. I need to take part of the second stream to mix it with the first stream in order to reach to some specific temperature values. Could you please tell me how can I do that. Any help will be appreciated

Thanks a lot
Mohamed
