Re: [TRNSYS-users] Advanced thermal insulation techniques

Issmail,

The u value is only one measure of a wall's performance. The other significant part is where the mass is located in the wall. Type56's wall model takes both into account. The u-value is displayed because it is a common measure of wall performance.

kind regards,

 David

Dear Trnsys users,

I am wondering if it is possible to compare the thermal performance of thermal insulation on both sides of the wall (internal & external), using TRNBuild and Trnsys3d (TRNSYS 17)! When I change the order of materials, including insulation material, in "wall type" manager/TRNBuild, the U-value does not chage.
Does anyone happen to have experience how to simulate the impact of thermal insulation on both sides of the wall?
Thanks in advance

best regards,
Ismail
