Re: [TRNSYS-users] TYPE 16

Adnan,

The solar azimuth that comes from Type16 is relative to the North/South axis. It is not relative to the building. If you have modeled your building starting with Trnsys3D and you drew the building using plan North (as opposed to absolute north) then you'll need to add an equation after Type16 that adds the turn angle to the solar azimuth angle coming from Type16 before then passing it on to Type56.

If you look at the 3D building example (especially at some of the later steps) you'll be able to see one way of implementing the equation.

If you drew your building using absolute north or if you did not use Trnsys3D such that the solar radiation falling on your building (as calculated by Type16) is the correct amount based on the direction that each wall faces then you do not need to modify the solar azimuth angle coming from Type16.

  kind regards,

 David

Hi everyone

i am using type 9 and type 16, for processing weather data, my problem is i am using turn equations to change the position of the building. everything is clear to me except solar azimuth angle(output of Type 16) Type 16 automatically calculate this or i need to give some input value from weather component. problem is i am changing turn but no change in solar gain.
