Re: [TRNSYS-users] Saving project with custom type yields "Unexpected file format" message

I just solved the problem by myself (by accident)…The error message wanted to tell me that the Bitmap-File that I used for the new Type somehow was not compatible with TRNSYS. After opening and saving it in MS Paint, everything works fine. Come on, really?

Hi all,

I managed to create a custom Type (number 202) in C++ by creating a DLL in the UserLib\ReleaseDLLs\ folder and by creating a Proforma file using TRNSYS Studio.
The Type works perfectly, I can already add it to the simulation and it does what it should do.

However, when I save a project with such a type and want to reopen it in TRNSYS Simulation Studio, the process fails with the message „Unexpected file format". So, I can currently use my Type within an open project but cannot save and reopen it, which makes it quite useless though.

Does anyone have a clue what the problem is? Did I miss to create some necessary file(s)?

Thanks in advance.
