Re: [TRNSYS-users] Weather time step

Thank you David for your reply.
I also realized that if I choose a time step less than 1 hour, the dew point temperature is approximated between entire hours. I cannot find the calculation rule in the documentation.
Do you have any idea where I can find it?

Best regards

Wirich

Wirich,
There are two basic Types that can be used to read weather data.
Type15 is designed to read files that have a standard format (such as
TMY2 or TMY3). Part of the standard format is a 1-hour timestep. If
you modify a standard format weather file to have a different time
step then it can no longer be read by Type15. Type9 can be used to
read general weather data files. However, it does not have the solar
radiation processing algorithms built into it as Type15 does. You'll
need to use Type16 to process the results that are read by Type9.
kind regards,
 David

Hi everyone,

As you know, the weather file for TRNSYS (TM2) is built with a 1 hour time step.

My question is: If I modify the weather file so that I have a time step of 1 minute, would TRNSYS be able to execute the simulation? In this case, is there a time step value to change in the program or is it totally impossible?

Thanks in advance.

Wirich
