Re: [TRNSYS-users] Does a FE-wall element exist?
Christian,
I have been working recently on a finite difference wall model but
unfortunately it is not ready for public distribution. However, usually
the best way to treat thin walls in Type56/TRNBuild is to neglect their
ability to store energy and to treat them as a purely thermally
resistive wall. You can define them simply as a massless layer and
specify only the material's thermal resistance.
kind regards,
David

Hi all,
I have a problem with Type 56, since it cannot find coefficients for
the Conduction transfer function used to model the transient heat
through the wall (the wall is very thin). Does anyone know of a finite
element wall type, which could be linked to type 56 and replace one or
more walls when needed?
Best regards
