Re: [TRNSYS-users] How to record the computer clock time in TRNSYS?

The best way to print the real computer time would be to write your own printer model or modify one of the existing printer models (Type 25).  There are fortran functions you can call to get the computer clock time.  But that will require you to have access to a fortran compiler.

Dear Tim,

I do not mean the "simulation duration", but each time-step's real computer clock time, for example "26/11/2015 17:14", or in epoch format.

Currently, with an output printer, I can only see the simulation time (e.g. from 0-8760 hr), but I cannot see the real computer clock time at each time-step.

I would like to see for example the following outputs:

Real_Computer_clock_time       simulation_time-step       value
26/11/2015 17:14             0                                         0.765
26/11/2015 17:15             1                                         0.234
26/11/2015 17:16             2                                         0.097
26/11/2015 17:17             3                                         0.854
...
...
...

Currently, according to one of my colleagues' experience, probably I can use the TRNSYS-Excel interface to send the "now()" function from Excel cell to TRNSYS at each time-step. However, unfortunately, some computers in our lab have the problem to run the TRNSYS-Excel type, so that I am looking for some other solutions.

Sunliang Cao -
If you turn Debug Mode on for your project (in the control cards in Simulation Studio), the lst file will include computer clock time statistics for the simulation and the individual components in the simulation.

Dear all,

I checked the type 21 (time values), but it seems that it can only output the "simulation time" rather than the "computer clock time".

Is there any advice on it?
