Idris, The "hot side" and "cold side" in the tank is an unfortunate historical leftover from Type4's original use as a tank in a solar water heating application. Those names don't really have any physical meaning except in the case in which you have selected an inlet temperature mode that automatically sets the location of the inlets. If you choose the Type4 mode that allows you to set the locations of the inlets and outlets you can ignore its reference to a "hot" and a "cold" side. If you do use the automatic inlet/outlet positioning mode then the "hot side" inlet is at the top of the tank and the "hot side" outlet is at the bottom. The "cold side" inlet is at the bottom of the tank and the "cold side" outlet is at the top. kind regards, David On 06/27/2015 10:05, Shofolahan, Idris
