Re: [TRNSYS-users] Tr : Tracking Trough collector

When you say your tracking axis is East-West do you mean the collector tracks from East facing to West facing during the day and the axis of the collector lies on a North-South orientation (azimuth = 0) or the AXIS of the trough is in an East-West orientation (azimuth = 90) and the collector altitude tracks during the day? You can check to make sure it's doing as you hope by plotting the slope and azimuth of the collector from the weather component.

Dear Trnsys-users,
I am modelling a tracking trough solar collector. The tracking axis of the collector is oriented E-W.
I am also using a data reader (user format) Type 99.
I want to verify with you my inputs; I actually set the tracking mode to 3 (single axis tracking), the slope of the surface to 0 (horizontal axis) and the azimuth to 0 (axis facing the equator).
I'm wondering if my settings are adequate.
Thank you in advance for any help
Best regards
