Re: [TRNSYS-users] Genopt trnbuild error (Martin Berov)

Dear Martin,

You should write the complete path to your building file in type 56, even if it is located in the same directory as the project.
Which optimization method are you using?
If you are trying to use PSO or similar optimization method, which runs parallel trnsys simulations, you should limit the no. of cores used to 1. For some reason, Trnbuild locks the building file, so multiple instances of the simulation are not possible. However, you can try to run trn.exe in batch from genopt directly (without trnopt)  to avoid this.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Marko

Hi,

I'm using Genopt to optimize parameters of solar heating system (first just the collector area and slope). I compiled the input file, defined the variables in genopt i.e. everything as required. bu when I run the optimization i get error message as table where is written:

Trnbuild
Surf-No                                       Description                                       Comment
-1                                          no OUTPUT's specified                     please add at least one output

In the Trnsys simulation environment I get output results (the model is properly functioning)

Do you have idea what could be the problem?

Best Regards
Martin

Martin Berov -
It is not finding your building model file when it starts the simulation.  GenOpt moves the files to run a simulation so you need to make sure all paths for files are complete.

Tim
