Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNBuild and radiation from the sun

Donya,
Because the 3d model contains the geometry information needed to determine the solar radiation falling on each surface, Type56 automatically gets solar radiation from the same data file as is being used to provide the ambient temperature. You should be able to use Type99 directly and Type56 should be able to pick up the radiation itself. If you want to be more transparent about it all (and provide the radiation yourself via individual links to the building model the way we used to do) then you can open the *.b17 in TRNBuild and double click on each of the orientations shown in the project info window. Set any of the orientations you want from "internal calculation" to "external by another component." When you return to the Studio and update the building variable list you will have three new inputs for each orientation in your building description.
Kind regards,
 David

Hi,

When one generates a 3D model with the TRNSYS wizard, there is no connection made between the amount of radiation from type15 and TRNBuild type56. How does TRNBuild than receive information about the amount of radiation from the sun?

The reason for asking is, that I would like to use my own weather data file (so I have to use type99 or similar), but if type56 doesn't need a link between weather file telling it the amount of radiation (from what I see), how can I use my own weather file?
