Re: [TRNSYS-users] Type 6 or Type 659

Barto,
Type659 assess the thermal losses from the heater if there is flow through the heater is not on (ie when the liquid is coming in hotter than the setpoint). Type6 sets those losses to zero. Yes, a negative energy delivered output from Type659 indicates that energy was removed from the liquid stream. You'll notice that the energy "delivered" and the loss term balance each other under that case.
Kind regards,
 David

Hi,

In my system I have aux.heater and I use Type 6, but also I tried with the Type 659.
My question is why with the same parameters for the aux.heaters I get different results? ( bigger energy delivered with Type 659) ?

When in the result is "negative" delivered energy, does it mean that at that moment the temp. at the inlet of the heater was bigger than the set?

Kind Regards
Barto
