[TRNSYS-users] Energy balance per zone_NTYPE 904

Dear all,

Good Day!

I have some questions for Energy balance per zone_NTYPE 904:

1) I checked the TRNSYS 16_Volume 6 (Documentation) for Energy balance per zone_NTYPE 904. Its equation is
Zonenr Rel_BAL  BAL_ENERGY= -DQAIRdt +QHEAT     -QCOOL  +QINF     +QVENT       +QCOUPL     +QTRANS  +QGAININT  +QWGAIN    +QSOLGAIN

But, I checked the Summary file for output, the equation becomes
Zonenr Rel_BAL  BAL_ENERGY= -DQAIRdt +QHEAT     -QCOOL  +QINF     +QVENT       +QCOUPL     -QTRANS  +QGAININT  +QWGAIN    +QSOLGAIN

In addition, the Energy_Zone file for output shows
Zonenr Rel_BAL  BAL_ENERGY= -DQAIRdt +QHEAT     -QCOOL  +QINF     +QVENT       +QCOUPL     +QTRANS  +QGAININT  +QWGAIN    +QSOLGAIN

Therefore, I am confused by the aforementioned equation-defination for Energy balance per zone_NTYPE 904.

2) For the TRNSYS 16_Volume 6 (Documentation) for Energy balance per zone_NTYPE 904, QTRANS's defination is Transmission into the wall from inner surface node (might be stored in the wall, going to a slab cooling or directly thansmitted). Therefore, e.g. in winter indoor temperature is higher than outdoor, QTRANS should be positive value (+), but, the file of Energy_Zone shows QTRANS all over the year is Negative (-), although indoor temperature is higher than outdoor in winter.
Thus, I think the equation should be Zonenr Rel_BAL  BAL_ENERGY= -DQAIRdt +QHEAT     -QCOOL  +QINF     +QVENT       +QCOUPL     -IQTRANSI +QGAININT  +QWGAIN    +QSOLGAIN

3) I calculated energy demand Qheat, Qcool, Qinfiltration, Qvent, Qintgain and Qsolar using Matlab (sum of 8760 hours' each values; sim. time step is 0.1h) based on the Energy_Zone (NTYPE 904) file for output. But the calculated resultes are completely different from the results of T56_std-Output file. Only Qinfiltration is the same almost between each other. Please see the following (Unit is kWh):

Qheat    Qcool  Qinfiltration  Qvent QintGain Qsolar
Energy_Zone (NTYPE 904)file   985.94    19.83   107.25  2109.61   2946      2553

T56_std-Output file                     295.4     22.68    107.2   1920    2494       1933

Could you expain this problem?
I guess that it is casued by the peak load of heating, ventilation for Qheat and Qvent. If so, how to solve this problem?

But for QintGain, Qsolar and Qcool, How to expain the above problems?

Many thanks in advance!

Br.

DEAR ALL
I am calculating the cooling load of a 5 zone building model make in Tran Build
schedule is given for cooling Monday-Friday 9-18 hrs , but it is calculating the
cooling load for weekend also .
how this can rectify

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] fuel cell, electrolyzer, H2 tank problem
hi everyone
i was going to implement a controller for controlling a hybrid pv/fc system but unfortunately when i try to write it's program i face with a mechanical issue.
i have a 400w elevtrolyzer with outlet H2 flow rate of 0.006 m^3/hr and its output pipe Cross section (cm^2) is unknown and it;s operating H2 presure is 10 bar
a 2kw fuel cell with inlet H2 flow rate of 3.4 m^3/hr that it's input pipe cross section area (cm^2) is unknow either and it;s operating H2 presure is 10bar
and a 10kg H2 tank that holds H2 till 10 bar pressure
should i directly link : 1-outlet flow rate of electrolyzer to inlet H2 input of H2 tank         ???
2-inlet flow rate of fuel cell to outlet H2 input of H2 tank

that's my question

sincerely yours
 mohammad behzadi

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Two boreholes and one heat pump installation
Dear TRNSYS users and support team,

I am dealing with a project containing a water-water heat pump and two U-tubes boreholes (Vertical ground heat exchangers).

The objective of this project is to extract energy from one of the borehole and try to store it in the other one thanks to the heat pump in order to use this energy in cold season for instance.

I would like to simulate this installation in an easy way on TRNSYS software.

In the first place, my problem is that on TRNSYS you can only have one borehole (Vertical ground heat exchanger) per project. However, in my model I would need two of these.
Therefore, I would like to know if there is any way to solve this problem or otherwise, which components of the TRNSYS library could be used to simulate the storage of energy in a borehole.

In the second place, the refrigerant of the heat pump I use is the 407C. But is seems that the attached file WWHP_Heating-Normalized.dat located in .\Tess Models\SampleCatalogData\Water-to-WaterHeatPump\Normalized only contains datas about the R134a refrigerant. I woud like to know how we can deal with other refrigerant.

Thank you very much.

Regards.
