Re: [TRNSYS-users] Heating/cooling energy consumption (David BRADLEY)

Shahen,
The Type56 QSENS output shows you the loads on each airnode of the building. Negative values of QSENS indicate heating loads while positive values indicate a cooling load. It is often less trouble to use the QHEAT (NTYPE30) and QCOOL (NTYPE31) outputs instead. These are simply the heating loads and cooling loads respectively.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear all,

I am trying to select the heating and cooling system size, as well as to get the load file that will be used later in another project,  through simulation of a house.
However, I have only sensible gain or latent gain in the type 56. So how can I find the total gain or demand.

Could you please advise me
King regards,
Shahen

Igor,
Yes, you care correct on both counts. You can also ask Type56 to give you QCOOL as an output if you want to know cooling loads. Keep in mind that the loads are sensible only and that no latent loads are calculated unless you have activated either humidification or dehumidication in a zone.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear all,

I want to simulate/calculate the heat energy consumption of a building Type 56 (weekly, monthly).

1.Since as output from the TYPE 56 I get only the Qheat_zone (heat transfer rate-power) so will it be correct to use the quantity integrator type 24 and connect with Type 46?
2. For the integration period if I put 24 hr does it mean that I get daily energy consumption? and with STOP I get for the whole simulation period?

Thank you
Best Regards
Igor
