Re: [TRNSYS-users] trnsys3d concave zones

Elena,
The requirement that a zone be convex is only important if you are going to use the "detailed models" of internal radiation distribution. If you plan to use the default radiation distribution (in which radiation is either distributed according to surface area or according to the values you set using the GEOSURF keyword) then you need not worry about the shape of the zone. I would recommend that you only use the detailed internal radiation distribution mode for "troublesome" zones such as atria and highly glazed zones. In this case those zones should be convex.
Kind regards,
 David

Hi everyone!

I'm a beginner in trnsys and i'm trying to make my building model in Sketchup with TRNSYS3d. The TRNSYS3d tutorial say that  thermal zones must be convex, not concave. But my building has many concave zones, how can I model them?

Thank you very much for your help

Regards,

Elena
