Eric,I would recommend that you go through the tutorial called "temperature level control from energy rate control" that is available for download from http://sel.me.wisc.edu/trnsys/downloads/tutorials_and_examples/tutex17.htm
It describes the process of migrating from using Type56 to compute heating and cooling loads to using controllers and equipment models to condition the space.
