Re: [TRNSYS-users] Problems with Simulation Studio and Type 56

Yip! I also found that issue and cleared it.

Dear Jean,

Thank you for your answer. Finally , I solved the problem by changing some input names. Indeed, there were input names exceeding 20 characters. Once changed these names and updated the file, the problems seem to be resolved.

If there is someone of TrnSolar in this list, could he/she confirm that TRNBUILD does not support variable names longer than 20 characters? If yes, would it be possible in a next release to check this and give an error if there are variable names longer than 20 characters?

Thank you.

I've had this. Tried all sorts of text file edditing to get rid of "phantom" inputs to no avail. At some point I re-outputed the idf and re-imported the outputted idf to remake the bui file. Can't remember the exact combo, but at some point the problem dissappeared. Studio was remembering stuff that wasn't even there...or so it seemed.

Dear TRNSYS users,

I am working on a large project with 20 thermal zones and 14 orientations. After creating a building with TRNBUILD, I have a total of 318 inputs, including inputs for orientations, heat gains and HVAC.

When using the generated b17 file in Simulation Studio, updating inputs and connecting some of them, I noticed some strange behavior: sometimes, without any apparent reason, I reopen the connection list and some inputs are duplicated, once connected (in black) and once, at the correct place, not connected (in blue). I attach an image explaining well what I mean.

Have you already found this kind of behavior? Is there any way to fix it?

Thank you for your help!
