Tobias, The maximum heating rate is a parameter in Type60. Parameters, by definition, are read once at the beginning of the simulation and then are not updated. They are time independent. If you need a tank model in which the input heating rate is variable, I would recommend using Type534 in the TESS Storage Tank library. The Type20 data files are described (although not very completely) in the 05-MathematicalReference manual. I assume that you are using Trnsys16; please be aware that Type20 was removed from Trnsys17 because it models a very specific (rather unusual) kind of heat pump that can use either water or air on its source side, because it can only operate in heating mode, and because it has some built-in control algorithms that cannot be modified.
