Re: [TRNSYS-users] Type125 & SketchUp

Hi Brian,

You were quite close! The only thing you missed is that names are case sensitive so, since your zone names are uppercase, the values in Type 125 should be "FRONT" instead of "Front", etc...
Then you just have to load the resulting .eso file in the Rendering Settings of TRNSY3D, select "Zone" as variable type, and you'll get "Temperatures (Hourly)" in both Inside and Outside Variable Names.
Use the shadow tool in Sketchup (Window -> Shadows) to navigate throughout the year and observe the changes in temperature.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Type125 & SketchUp
Hi,

I'm trying to import an .eso file back into TRNSYS after going through the SketchUp -> TRNSYS process.  I get white walls when viewing data.

Summary of steps:
1) Create .idf with SketchUp + TRNSYS3D plugin
2) Create .tpf using 3D Bld Project
3) Use Type125 to generate .eso {as per tutorial to the best of my knowledge}
3) Load _b17 in SketchUp and link .eso under render/settings

Everything SEEMED to have gone OK.  The .eso file has meaningful zone temperatures, but the header looks all blank?? xEsoView gives an error {not valid eso file} when I try to open the file (I'm new to xEscView - just trying diagnostics).

Attached is a zip file with original files and some (important) intermediate files generated along the way.

Any help will be appreciated.
