Re: [TRNSYS-users] Floor heating

Dear CK Lee
Please be aware that we are technically no longer supporting Trnsys16.
The most recent version (Trnsys 17) was released in 2009 and the most
recent build (17.01.0025) was release this past september.

Trnsys16's Type56 model was a non-geometric model so that surfaces are
not aware of their placement relative to one another. The model used the
"star network" method in that all of the surfaces transfer energy to the
air node and the air node transfers energy to the surfaces. That said,
the user is able to select from two methods for entering the convective
heat transfer coefficients for surfaces (which of course are quite
important in radiant systems). The user can specify a constant value or
can choose from built in correlations for a floor, a vertical surface or
a ceiling. In this manner, the model is able to differentiate between
surfaces of differing orientation.

Kind regards,
David
