If you have a dual or multiple core processor, TRNSYS simulation may use only one of the cores. If you are concerned about simulation speed because you are trying to run multiple simulations, try jEPlus (http://www.iesd.dmu.ac.uk/~jeplus/).

I don't know if this helps but if you start your Simulation in the command Shell (cmd) with the command "start" you can give a priority (see also "help start" in cmd). If you use High ist will speed up your simulation, but be aware that you cannot use your system until your simulation is finished.
