I am using Trnsys17 Simulation studio and I would like to monitor some results of my 3d building with type155 Matlab. I have allready installed MatlabR2010a on my machine but i fail to run the example of callingMAtlab. I
would much appreciate some instructions of how to use this specific
type and which connections should i make , in order to simulate it and
continue with my work. Thank you very much for your help!
thanks a lot for your answer. By the way, do you know any way of calculating the cumulative distribution function for a random number from a normal distribution? Best,
Angel,
There are two components in the TESS Utility Library (Type577, and
Type578) which provide a random number with either a uniform or a
normal distribution. When I have needed to make a schedule that has
some random element to it, I have used one of these two Types
combined with my set schedule in an equation so that I don't get
quite the same schedule from day to day. I imagine you could do the
same for setpoints.
Best,
David

Dear all,
i'm just beginning to work on the inclusion of stochastic
occupancy profiles in type 56. After briefly reviewing the
theoretical background i could find and before starting to work
with studio, i thought that probably some of you have experience
with this issue, so I would highly appreciate any recommendation,
reference or experience you may have that could help to anticipate
potential problems. Specially, I'm worried about the definition of
stochastic setpoints for heating and cooling systems. Any comments
are welcome, kind regards

Thank you for your answer, My coupling was'nt activated in both airnodes so I got an error.
You may check the manual 05-MultizoneBuilding.pdf
:
5.2.4.10.
Coupling between airnodes of same zone Since Version 17, a thermal zone may consist
of more than one airnode. In general, these airnodes do not have a
common wall. For defining a coupling between these
airnode within the same zone, this regime option can be used.
Each airnode may get up to
two coupling airflows from “adjacent” airnodes.
(Note: “Upper”
and “lower” are just names which don’t correspond to the actual
location).
First, the coupling has to
be activated, than the airnode from which the air flow is coming has to be
selected.
Finally, the coupling
airflow has to be defined as a constant, schedule or input.
If you have more than one
arinode in one zone an additional button in the regime called “coupling”
is visible
In the airnode window.
You need activate this regime
coupling in both airnodes.

I'm trying to use trnflow for a multiple airnode zone (3 airnodes). My problem
is that i cannot define any airlink between my airnodes because there is no
adjacent wall between them : virtual ceilings have been modelized. I know it's
possible to define couplings between the airnodes but trnflow doesn't seem able
to use them. Is there any solution ?
Thank you for your help,
Ewen

Dear trnsys users
how can I totally shade the surface of an element (ec roof) using a trnsys component (probably type 67).
how the "opening" in type 68 is considered to be horizontal? should type 67 be combined to another type?
ps: sorryfor double-senting the yesterday e-mail

Dear TRNSSYS User,
i am trying to run an active layer with an specific massflow rate of 15 kg/h m² (absolute value 654.15 kg/h). TRNBuild calculates a minimum allowed massflow rate of 10.25 kg/h. (446 kg/h) ....so far so good. But when I set this massflow rate in TRNSYS Studio via Input to the wanted 654.15 kg/h I get following error
"specific fluid mass flow of active layer in surface 2 below minimum value of16.26/m2h, increase the minimum mass flow rate or use autosegmentation feature of TRNBuild for subdividing the surface."
This is a really strange behavior. The massflow criteria varies and seems to depend on the inlet temperature.. I also tried autosegmentation - I didn´t help, I got the same error message. Please help me out here..
