Re: [TRNSYS-users] Convex thermal zone with Trnsys3D.

Boulla,
The limitation is that if you are going to use the standard Type56 method for distributing radiation (beam distribution according to GEOSURF factors, diffuse according to absorption area weighted, longwave according to the star node network) then you can have any shaped zone. If you want to switch to any of the more complex radiation exchange modes, you need to have only convex zones.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear users,

In the Trnsys3D tutorial (june 2010), it is said (p4) that trnsys3D thermal zones must be convex. Is it still true? (maybe there has been some changes on trnsys3D plugin since then)

I tried drawing a L shaped thermal zone, and when I open it with trnstudio and run it it seems to work correctly.

Antoine Boulla
