Re: [TRNSYS-users] Fw: TRNSYS software V15

Dear Mahbub,

First of all, I highly recommend that you read the TRNSYS 'Getting Started Manual' which is also provided with the TRNSYS17 demo version. The manual will explain the following and more. TRNSYS15 is available upon request when you purchase the current TRNSYS verion (17).
The TRNSYS Project File (*.tpf) is the simulation file for the graphical interface, TRNSYS Simulation Studio (Formerly IISIBAT in version 15). Please open one of the examples in the "\Trnsys17-Demo\Examples" directory from the TRNSYS Simulation Studio for reference. The data and weather reading components in the *.tpf (double-click on the component in the Simulation Studio) reference the external data files (weather file, load file, performance data, etc.).

If you continue to have questions or issues, please feel free to contact me.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Mahbub,
I am new to TRNSYS myself, and am really more of an Energy Plus expert, eQuest and design builder user and think your questions will be better answered by the TRNSYS list serve. I am a recipient of this list, and have copied it in this email.

BEST OF LUCK

Hassan,
I am not sure about how/where to get TRNSYS 15, but the software is updated regularly and is currently on version 17.

I advise you to download the free version TRNSYS 17,
Then experiment&n bsp;with it to get comfortable, then do a training. There are currently 11 distributors of TRNSYS globally, but the true experts are made up of some of the initial developers, at a company located in Madison Wisconsin called Thermal Energy Specialists (TESS)
Also you may find that the TRNSYS interface developed by the NREL called system advisor model to be fitting for your needs (what types of systems are you modeling?)
Lastly I have included Matt Duffy of TESS on t! his email, and provided his contact info below as he may have additional answers for you..

Hi  Jeremiah,

Can you help me? I am interested to learn TRNSYS sof tware.  But before buying  trnsys , I want to explore a bit  more . I have heard that, if anyone has account with trnsys , can download  trnsys- 15 for free. Is it possible to provide me the TRNSYS 15 software?
I usually do commercial building energy simulation by IES VE which is quite easy, but I know TRNSYS is good for renewable energy simulation. Please let me know your thought.
Thanks for your help in advance.
