Re: [TRNSYS-users] reinstalling bugs of TRNSYS

Wang,

What version are you reinstalling? Are you reinstalling into a clean, empty directory? Does this error occur when you run a simulation or somewhere else?

Thank you,

Matt

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] reinstalling bugs of TRNSYS

Dear all,

After I reinstalled TRNSYS, I run the former programs, it always appears as follows before Online-plotter shows:
1. I/O error 103,
2.TRNExe.exe has a problem and it will end (Dialogue Box),
2. Application error: Exception EAccessViolation in module. TRNExe.exe at FFFFFF045......

Please give me some solutions!

Many thanks in advance!

Br.

Can someone point me to where I can find a pre-defined window glazing type (in TRNBUILD) for a rigid fiberglass board window panel?  I assume there is such a thing so that I don't have to make this a 'wall'.

Thanks,
Richard Flarend

Hi

I have read the information, I have tried to increase parameter 1, I have also looped the controller to its self. Still it does not work
I have also tried changing many other parameters and have spent a lot of time on this problem. still with no luck.

Any other suggestions?

Mike

Mike,

you should connect the output control function of the controller to its own input control function (Input number 4). Also, you should increase the value of parameter 1, to the default value at least (the influence of this parameter is! explained at the type 2 documentation, I recommend you to read it, together with the generic section for controllers at the trnsys help)

Dear Trnsys

I am experiencing problems with a simple type 2b controller.

I am using a solar collector type 564b

I am trying to compare the temperature of the output of the collector with output of the tank, getting a temperature difference. I have set the dead band from 4-10 degrees C.

In the simulation as the temper! ature rises to 10degrees difference, the control signal is 1 switching the pump on correctly. but after this the controller only switches every time step. I have tried shortening the time step... and changing other parameters.. still with no success.

I have attached the file.

Yours Sincerely

Richard,

Yes, I would probably make that a 'mass-less' resistive wall in TRNBuild especiallly if there is no or little light passing through the fiberglass panel.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Mathieu

You might also want to consider one of the slab components in the TESS Ground Coupling Library as the source code is provided, and the heat flux is finite difference and not conduction transfer function method. The semi-empirical method in Type56 has limited configurations, and other than the TRNBuild documentation, I am not sure how it is calculated.

Best regards,

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Type 56 active layer accuracy, alternatives

Dear all,

I'm currently studying the coupling between thermally activated building systems (TABS), or floor heating/cooling, and geothermal heat pumps. I chose using the active layer in type 56, but I recently read in an article by T. Weber (An optimized RC-network for thermally activated building components, Building and Environment, 2005) that "...it will loose a part of its accuracy for harmonic temperature fluctuations in the pipe having a period lower! than 10 h". However, this sentence refers to an article that has never been published.

The calculation of the energy storage in the slab is very important for my study. However, the validation of the active layer in type 56 refers to a comparison of the heat fluxes at the slab's upper and lower surface and the mean temperature at pipe level.

Therefore, is there a! known accuracy problem with the energy storage calculations in type 5 6's active layer, usually for high temperature or flow rate fluctuations?

Also, except from type 56's active layer and type 360 (Floor heating and hypocaust), are there other types available for floor heating/cooling?

Thank you!

Dear Michael,

Please make sure that you are using a reasonable timestep such as 0.125 hr (type in terms of hours to avoid problems with the Studio's minute conversion trucation). Also, make sure that you have the latest TRNSYS and TESS Libraries versions as well.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy
