Dear users, I still have no idea how to simulate buoyancy airflow between the airnodes of the atrium. COMIS and CONTAM are based on orifice model to calculate airflow through windows or cracks but there is no orifice between each airnode of the atrium model, only virtual planes...
Is it better to simulate the atrium as one zone with one airnode ? What is then the interest of multiple airnodes ?
for the simulation of sensitive thermal coupling u either have to
use the coupling between neigboring zones directly or u use Type 56
with TRNFLOW. The latter will be mor accurate but more demanding in
terms of input parameters.
Maybe my colleague can tell u more about that.

Dear all,
I'm currently trying to simulate an atrium. I'm using trnsys3D and
the atrium's zone is divided in 6 airnodes.
I use the detailed model for radiation and I expect to simulate
the stratification of temperature.
The results I have are not completely satisfying.
Is there any convective exchange between each airnode of a same
zone or are the convective zones closed for each airnode ?
Does anyone has an idea on how to simulate buoyancy air flow in
the atrium ?
Another question is : is it possible to have a zone with multiple
airnodes and to use a standard model for radiation calculation ?
it is not so clear to me in the MultizoneBuilding manual.
