[TRNSYS-users] Re : Re : "Range check error"

Hello,

I confirm by testing that the surfaces numbers must not exceed 999 with version 16.

Hi,

I think I found the issue.
I should have mentionned that this project was created with ver 17 from IDF file created with google sketch up (all zones at a time). Sorry I didn't think it was linked to that.
All 3D information was "broken"and then the project was transfered to ver 16 on another computer. This worked well on another project I had.
I think this time, the problem comes from the wall numbering.
Under TrnBuild, close to "geosurf" information, you have a number, which I think is the specific to each wall. In my current project, there are numbers over 8000, which are apparentlty not supported by ver 16.

Anyone could confirm this last statement?

Regards
Jeremy

Sorry about that, if I had ver16 I would spend more time to help.

Suggestion:

Always go step by step in trnsys. Check with lower number of zones for example only 2 zones then if it works add more zone. Putting this way ease the process of diagnostic.

Hope you solve it.

Regards

Mehdi

I am working with ver17. but I tried to get into and found that in zone 09 you have additional windows containing 3 windows with very small area 0.00234 m2.

I removed those 3 additional windows from zone 9 and it start to work in my version 17.

Hope to be a solution

Mehdi

Thanks Mehdi for your answer.
Unfortunatelly I am still stuck. I have only one printer in my project.
It looks the calculation is stopped at time equals to 0.

I re-attached the TPF. Any other guess?

Hi Jeremy

I am trnsys user as well. I wanted to open you file but it was only BUI file not tpf.

Anyway, I have had this error couple of times. Check whether you have more than 10 online plotters. Then check if it runs with run time error equal 1 hr or not.

Hope it helps

Regards

Mehdi

Hello,

I am currently running a 56-type simulation with 85 zones.
When I try to launch the simulation I get the famous "range check error" message. I have been checking my model for several hours and this time I am not able to solve the issue.

I turned on the debugg mode, but dont get more info and I dont have any fortran compiler....
I work with TRNSYS 16.

Any body would be kind enough to have a look?

I attached the INF, TPF and BUI files

Thanks a lot

Regards

Jeremy
