Dear Santiago,
There is not a rotary heat exchanger in the TRNSYS Standard Library. The TESS HVAC Library has a rotary desicant dehumidifier, but no rotary heat exchanger.
Best regards,
Matt Duffy

TRNSYS users,I was wondering if there is a standard type that helps model a 'Rotary Heat Exchanger' or anything similar. Thanks!

Santiago,
I apologize; I stand corrected!
The TESS HVAC Libraries have Type667 and Type760 to model Air-to-Air Heat Recovery. You may view the descriptions at the following PDF.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] SDHW template Tin and Useful energy gain- strange behaviour
Hi All,
I played around a little bit with different efficiency equations for the collector, and wanted to compare the results.
Therefore I used the SDHW template (with TYPE1 as collector), which uses the outlet of the Tank as inlet temp to the collector.
I erased this connection and set the inlet temp to a fixed 10 deg but in fact is it still varying when I plot it (from 10-13deg).
How come?
Another thing that I experienced: when I used the system in the normal mode (Tout tank connected to Tin collector), the useful energy gain of the collector is higher than with a fixed (and in average 10 deg K lower) input temperature.
Shouldn't it be the opposite?
As Q=m*cp*(Tout-Tin) , the smaller Tin, the higher Quse (assuming that Tout is not that heavily affected)?
Clarification highly appreciated!!
Best,
Philip

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Unable to create new weekly schedule
Dear users,
I have TRNSYS version 16.00.0036 (TRNBuild version 1.0.76). While working in TRNBuild, I was attempting to create a new daily and weekly schedule to use in artificial lighting, since none of the existing schedules were of use to me. However, it is not possible to do such a thing, since in the new schedule window, I am unable to switch between daily and weekly schedule. The relevant radio button is set to "daily" and is greyed out, I can't change the selection. I can create a daily schedule without problem, but it is useless to me since I cannot determine when it is implemented during a week. Anyone else has this problem? Any solutions/suggestions?
Regards,
Alexandros
