Nick,
Type55 would allow you to integrate only over a certain time
period (your 8am to 4pm time frame) and reset daily. Alternatively,
you can get a daily sum of a function that has a value of 1 when the
sun is up and a value of 0 otherwise: sunUp = GT(Ih,0) (where Ih is
an output of your weather processor). That will get you the number
of daylight hours each day. You'll then need to print out your
hourly temperatures and do the integration in Excel after the
simulation.
Best,
David

Is it possible to create running averages based on certain
criteria? For instance, could I calculate the average of the
temperature each day only when radiation is present (during
daytime hours) so that the average does not reflect the cold
nights?
The closest solution I have found to this is to use an 8 hour
running average, so that you are getting 3 averages each day: Midnight
to 8am, 8am to 4pm, and 4pm to Midnight. And then using
Excel to average only the 8am to 4pm data and erase everything
else. The problem with this is the radiation is still present
after 8am or before 4pm at certain locations and depending on
the time of season.
Thanks,
Nick

You can also use the utility model
that creates a running average - in your case a running
24 hour average. This will keep you from getting step
changes at midnight.

Lana,
I think you can also use Type55, from
utility library.

Dear all,
is there a Type that
can calculate the average ambient
day temperature of each day in the
year, and where can I find it? I
would like to use that to control
the inlet temperature of a
concrete core activation system.

Best Regards
