Re: [TRNSYS-users] building with walls with big thermal mass

Dear Stefano,

The wall thickness is limited to 1 meter in TRNBUILD.

You say condition does not fulfill the stability criteria, but have you try to increase your TIME BASE in TRNBUILD (TRNBUILD - Outputs - TIME BASE)?

I suggest you to increase you time base and check if results are physicaly correct. Time base must be a mutliple of your time step.

Best regards

Dear all,

I need to simulate the behavior of a building with big thermal mass (old church, circa 90 cm stone wall).

Unfortunately, this condition does not fulfill the stability criteria.

Which is the best way to simulate this case? Would it make sense to create another adjacent thermal zone with no air mass capacitance and with the external wall as half of the massive original wall?

Thanks for helping and suggestions

Stefano
