Re: [TRNSYS-users] NTYPE 1: TAIR & Top

Dear Wang,

in TRNBUILD you can define ZONES. These are in principle RADIATIVE ZONES that can have ONE/SEVERAL AIRNODES. Please have a look to the Trnsys3d Tutorial on page 20 at the bottom, there is an image showing the meaning of radiative zone and convective airnode. If you are starting to set up a ZONE in TRNBUILD then this automatically is a RADIATIVE ZONE with ONE AIRNODE.  TAIR represents the ideal mixed air temperature of the volume that you define in TRNBUILD. The operative temperature (often called the felt temperature) includes besides the TAIR also the mean surface temperature in the zone.

Betreff: [TRNSYS-users] NTYPE 1: TAIR & Top

Dear all,

I have a question about room air temperature: NTYPE 1: TAIR. As we know, there are different room air temperature in different height of one room. Besides that,  the wall, the floor and roof temperature of the room are also not the same. Please tell me  what's meaning of NTYPE 1: TAIR? Where is This AIRNODE? How to define This AIRNODE?

PLUS: to Operative(operation) temperature of room:  How to define it?  What' meaning is  Operative(operation)temperature of room? What's difference of Operative(operation) temperature of room and  NTYPE 1: TAIR?

I saw the TRNBuild / Type56 documentation . But it only shows NTYPE 1: TAIR: air temperature of zone. But I want to know   Where is This AIRNODE which measures aie temperature of zone? How to define This AIRNODE? Because as we know, there are different room air temperature in different height of one room.

to Top it shows the operative(operation) temperature of room: BUT how to define it?  What' meaning is  Operative(operation)
temperature of room? What's difference of Operative(operation) temperature of room and  NTYPE 1: TAIR?

  Many thanks!

Manu,
TRNEdit is a tool that allows you to directly edit the text of the TRNSYS input file. Before the Studio existed, people used TRNEdit to create their input file. It doesn't really have any reporting features. You might try selecting "Report" from the File menu in the TRNSYS Studio. This will generate a summary text file of your project.
Best,
 David

Information of this kind can be found in the TRNBuild / Type56 documentation (volume 05 in the Trnsys17 documentation set).

Abduljalil,
In order to change the wall layers, open TRNBuild and open your building description file (*.bui or *.b17). Select Typemanager: Walls from the menus at the top of the screen. Select the appropriate wall from the drop-down list. Double click on a layer in order to change its thickness.
Best,
 David

I would like to study the effect of insulation thick to the performance of the system

Jérôme,
What is most likely happening is that at a pressure of 1atm, your combination of the dry bulb temperature and the absolute humidity ratio are on the wrong side of the saturation line. Since that is physically impossible, the psychometric routine  keeps your dry bulb temperature and resets the absolute humidity ratio to the value it would be if the relative humidity were 100%.
Best,
 David

Could someone explain to me why this difference happens?

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] error when opening sketchup

Hi,

I am using the TRNSYS 3d plugin for SketchUp V7. I have v8 but the plugin doesn’t seem to attach to v8 (is this correct? Is there a plugin for v8). Whenever I open sketch up I get the following error:

Sorry... the plugin has encountered an error. This error may cause unpredictable behavior in the plugin continue this session with caution! It would probably be a good idea to exit SketchUp  and start again. (unfortunately this happens everytime I open sketchup)

For help please contact...
