Re: [TRNSYS-users] error message "stack overflow"

Philipp,
Unfortunately, there is not much you can do to trouble shoot a "stack overflow" error. A stack overflow is a generic error message telling you that too much memory was used on the calling stack. It could be that a number got too big to fit in the memory space allocated for it. There may be a way that you can avoid it by modifying your model but without knowing more about what caused the error, its very difficult to figure out how to fix it. You will need to send your *.b17 to your distributor and ask for their help in debugging the model.
Best,
 David

Dear TRNSYS user,

when changing either the diffuse radiation or the longwave radiation mode in an atrium zone to detailled my simulation crashes. I get the error message "stack overflow". The atrium zone consists of 7 airnodes and has multiple window panes to adjacent zones.

Does it help to simplify the zone-model by merging several window-panes into one pane?

Or is this error message a(nother) reason to invest some money in a new high end computer :-).

Again any advice for troubleshooting is highly apprciated.

regards Philipp
