Re: [TRNSYS-users] Problem to model shading mask with Trnsys 3D

Dear Vincent,

After importing your *.idf into trnbuild, you need to generate the shading matrix, *.shm, from the menu (Generate -> Shading/Insolation Matrix)

Dear Trnsys users,

Before using TRNSys-3D, I thought the big advantage was the easy way to model shading masks by drawing masks directly on SketchUp (using shading groups function).

However, analyzing the results, I realized shading masks were not considered  by the model.

Is it normal ?

Did I miss an important step ?

Did one of you obtain results with shading masks drawn by SketchUp ?

In addition, I don’t understand how shading masks are modeled (if they are modeled) : the simulation studio file created by the 3D-Building Project Wizard do not use types (like Type 67 or 68 or 34 …) so radiations from the weather file are not modified before the Type 56.

Thanks a lot for your answers !

Best regards,
