Re: [TRNSYS-users] Meteo file of Luxembourg

Thanks to all. Finally, I took the meteo file of Saarbruecken because the extreme T° are nearly the same used in Luxembourg for the hvac calculations.

Dear all,

I simulated a building in Luxembourg with the weather files of Saarbrücken. I think that is the closest (approx. 70 km).

Airport Findel or www.lcd.lu (Lycee classique Diekirch) publish weather files. You can try to create your own weather file.

Best regards

I don’t think Dave meant to write Hamburg, unless he was trying to provoke jokes about Americans and geography (a side-effect of rapid-fire tech support emails I guess...).

I think the closest locations included in TRNSYS weather files are Trier (Germany) and Saint-Hubert (Belgium). Otherwise Saint-Hubert (Belgium), Nancy (France) and Mannheim (Germany) are also available on the EnergyPlus website. I suspect the official German weather files must also have Trier or similar locations (but I don’t think they are freely available).

There is an airport in Luxembourg so some data is most probably available.

Michaël

Frédéric,
I am not aware of any weather files for Luxembourg itself. The closest one available is probably the one for Hamburg. Alternatively you could use Mannheim, Frankfurt,Nancy, or Strasbourg.
Best,
 David
