Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS-users Digest, Vol 62, Issue 30

Dear Mariana

You can change your TRNBUILD time base for Transfert function calculation in the same frame as OUTPUTS, if necessary.
The time step must be shorter than the time base and the time base should be a multiple of the time step.
If you have thin walls, you can define them as massless layer. In that case, you only have to define its thermal resistance.

Hello,

I’m having a problem with TrnBuild. I’m trying to describe an office tower in TrnBuild and it keeps sending error messages that either the timebase is too small (it’s set for 1 hour, the default value) or that the capacity of a wall is too small. Thing is the wall type creating the error is just fine, its capacity is good. After I fix one wall type I get an error message for a different wall type. I don’t know where all this is coming from.

By the way, there’s an error in type52 code. The computation of the convection coefficient for water inside the tubes of the cooling coil for laminar flow is done considering Nu=4.36. It might be a simplification but it’s not ok.
