Re: [TRNSYS-users] active layer in type 56

Hello Mr. Martinez!

There's a trick making it possible to do this but I must admit I had no possibility until now to validate the results of a construction like this with real measurement values!

- You split the wall between the two active layers, construct the wall to the separation-zone and define one of them in each room.
- You set the outside convective heat transfer coefficients of both walls to 0.0001 (direct contact).
- Define both walls as boundary.
- You create two outputs with the outside-surface-temperature of the two walls.
- Create an Input for these two temperatures and link the building-Type with itself.
- Now You define the Outside-surface-temperature-Output of the wall in room A as the boundary-condition of the wall in room B and reverse (temperature B in room A).

This works but as I sad unfortunately I never had the possibility to validate this concept.

Good luck,
    Matthias Kersken

Betreff: [TRNSYS-users] active layer in type 56

Hello All,

I´ve been trying to create a new simulation with a wall containing two active layers in it.
As far as I know, this is not possible. Is it correct or can I create it somehow?

Thank you wery much.
