Dear David, Thank you for your quick answer. Actually this work is part of Juliane's PhD thesis where the outcome should be a stand-alone program for the use at the University only. There are absolutely no plans on selling it. There are no problems when the simulation is started from the studio, but when it is started from the command window (>trnexe Building.dck), immediately an error message (Visual Fortran run-time error, see attachment) appears and no *.bld and *.trn file is generated. Are there any additional DOS-commands that can be entered in the command window when starting Trnexe to avoid the error and be able to run the full simulation? It would also be okay if there was an additional command, that, when Trnbuild is started (>trnbuild Building.bui), saves the *.bui file and closes Trnbuild. /N does not work with trnbuild. Angela and Juliane,It might be a good idea to be in contact with your TRNSYS distributor about what you are trying to do. There are some license restrictions as to what kind of applications can be developed from TRNSYS. If what you are doing is for internal use only, there is no problem of course. If you are planning to distribute your final product then you should definitely contact the developers. With TRNSYS 16, the *.bui file is processed by TRNBuild when the simulation starts (so the *.bld and *.trn files are regenerated each time).Kind regards, David Angela Dro"scher wrote:Hi all,We are looking for a possibility to change building parameters (e.g. wall thickness) without working directly in Trnsys (Trnbuild respectively). The final product should be easy to use for people who do not have any knowledge in Trnsys but want to see the effect of changing parameters on the simulation results. Our idea is the following: - enter certain paramters (wall thickness,...) in Excel - start a command window from MS Excel - start Trnsys from the command window via ExcelIt is no problem to change the parameters in the .bui-file, but to run the simulation, the .bld- and the .trn need to be updated. Our first idea is to open the .bui-file in Trnbuild from the command window and save it in order to update the .bld and the .trn. The problem is how to save and close the .bui-file from the command window. The second idea is that the .bld and the .trn possibly can be updated without starting Trnbuild, but we have no clue how to do this. Are there any ideas how we could fix this? Thanks in advance, Angela and Juliane
