Re: [TRNSYS-users] Thermal Store model with internal HE coils

Ben,

We routinely model tanks exactly like the one you are describing (BoilerMate's etc.) for solar thermal applications.  We use the Type 534 model found in the TESS Storage Tank library; fitting the HX parameters to match the published performance results at different flow rates and temperatures.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Thermal Store model with internal HE coils

I am studying at Loughborough University in the UK and want to model an existing solar thermal system with a specific thermal store.

The thermal store has an internal heat exchanging coil at the bottom for the solar input and an internal heat exchanging coil at the top for the indirect HW output.  There doesn't seem to be a standard model for a store with internal heat exchangers for input/output.

Does anyone know of any existing models for this setup?

Many thanks,

Ben
