Yves, I believe that the hypocaust is able to travel under 6 different surfaces (perhaps 6 different building zones or perhaps ambient, then some building zones...) The parameters and related inputs indicate how the model should handle the energy balance at the surface. For each of the 6 surface types, you have the choice of specifying 0 : corresponding input Xsurf is surface temperature, output Xbord is inflowing energy rate or 1 : corresponding input Xsurf is is inflowing energy rate, output Xbord is equivalent border temperature. Even in situations where my hypocaust traveled only under a single surface, I specified values of the parameters for all 6 surfaces because it looked to me from the code as though it would not be a good idea to try and just specify those that I needed.
