[TRNSYS-users] modelling a house which sits on a ventilated air cavity
Dear All,
I would like your opinion on this modelling problem I am encountering.
I am modelling a dwelling and the ground floor is made of timber
boards, no insulation, on top of a ventilated air cavity. To simulate
this I have built my material by only considering the timber boards. I
then assign my floor as an external element with a view factor to sky
equal to 0. I am doing this because the temperature underneath the
house will be very close to the ambient one, as the structure permits
air circulation underneath the house. What about the convective heat
transfer coefficient of the material then? I use common values for my
materials: for inside: 11 kJ / h m² K, for outside 64 kJ / h m² K. If
I use the same value as an inside element, as it is not exposed to the
wind for example, would that be OK?
Do you have any other suggestions about this? Thank you in advance
