Re: [TRNSYS-users] Window Study

Patrick,
I think that approach seems solid enough to assess the change in energy that is being transfered through the window. It doesn't really get at how that change affects the energy use of the building; ie the load due to solar may be either a large or a small fraction of the total load and there isn't really any way of knowing without putting in some kind of building zone.
Kind regards,
 David

Hi everyone,

I want compare different shading devices on a façade but do not want to create the whole building. Has anyone used or is it accurate to use Type 34 with Type687 and make the window the total façade size?? Is there a better approach?

Thanks for any advice.
